1883 silver dollar worth

Despite the lower mintage, the 1883-CC Morgan Dollar (Buy on eBay) remains plentiful in higher mint state grades. This is due to the large number sold through the General Services Administration in the 1970’s. They sold bags of mostly Carson City silver dollars that had been sitting in their vaults for more than a century. The GSA holding of 1883-CC silver dollars totaled 755,518, or 62.75% of the original mintage.

Nearly all 1883-CC Morgan Dollars are well struck with very attractive luster, sometimes proof like or deeply mirrored. Many examples will be encountered in the GSA holders.
